  • Average Daily Volume Of 7.2 Million Contracts At Eurex Group In August

    In August 2012, the international derivatives markets of Eurex Group recorded an average daily volume of 7.2 million contracts (August 2011: 13.2 million). Of those, 5.1 million were Eurex Exchange contracts (August 2011: 9.1 million), and 2.1 million contracts (August 2011: 4.1 million) were traded at the U.S.-based International Securities Exchange (ISE). August 2011 saw very high volumes due to turbulences in the euro zone. In total, 117.2 million contracts were traded at Eurex Exchange and 49.1 million at ISE.

  • Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Posts Highest Ever Trading Volume

    Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited achieved the highest ever monthly trading volume of PKR 129 billion in the month of August 2012 with a total of 325,000 contracts traded. This is a record increase, crossing the previous high of June 2012 of PKR 119 billion.

  • BM&FBOVESPA Launches Unsponsored BDR Index - Portfolio Will Be Made Up Of The 70 BDRs Of Foreign Companies Traded On The Exchange

    BM&FBOVESPA starts the real-time calculation and publication today of the Unsponsored BDR Index – Global (BDRX). The new indicator is composed of the 70 unsponsored BDRs that are listed on the Exchange and was created to contribute to the diversification of foreign investors’ investment strategies for foreign assets. The index offers asset managers and the market a point of reference for the performance of the depository receipts of foreign stocks, traded on BM&FBOVESPA.

    The value of average daily share trading amounted to EUR 1.6 billion, compared to EUR 2.2billion during the past 12-month period. The average number of trades per trading day was266,868, compared to 364,749 during the past 12-month period. The total market cap of listed companies at NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchange amounted to EUR 732 billion, compared to EUR 645 billion in August 2011.

    NASDAQ OMX today publishes monthly trade statistics for the Nordic and Baltic markets. Below follows a summary of the statistics for August 2012:

    • The share trading on NASDAQ OMX Nordic decreased by 51.5 % to a daily average of 1.6bn EUR, compared to 3.3bn EUR in August 2011. Compared to the previous month, July 2012, the daily average decreased by 4.2 %.
    • Derivatives trading decreased by 34 % to a daily average of 432,172 contracts, compared with 654,391 contracts in August 2011.
    • ETF trading (Exchange Traded Funds) decreased by 70.4 % to a daily average of 40m EUR compared to 135m EUR in August 2011.
    • Nokia was the most traded stock on NASDAQ OMX Nordic exchanges during the past month, followed by Novo Nordisk A/S.
    • Merrill Lynch International was the most active member on NASDAQ OMX Nordic during the past month, followed by Credit Suisse.
    • NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in our listed stocks increased to 67.4 % compared to 66.1 % the previous month.
    • NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s share of order-book trading in Norwegian listed shares decreased to 8.6 % compared to 8.7 % the previous month.
    • NASDAQ OMX Nordic’s average time at EBBO (European Best Bid Offer) was:
      - For OMXC20 companies 88.7 %
      - For OMXH25 companies 85.1 %
      - For OMXS30 companies 91.1 %

    • The average daily turnover was EUR 85.4 (88.5) million, a decrease of 3.5 percent. The total turnover was EUR 1,963.9 (1,947.6) million, an increase of 0.8 percent.
    • The average number of trades per day was 15,653 (14,266), an increase of 9.7 percent. The total number of trades was 360,023 (313,843) an increase of 14.7 percent.
    • The trading participant with the highest turnover was Virtu Financial Ireland with a turnover of EUR 765.9 (716.1) million.
    • The most traded instrument was Nokia, with a turnover of EUR 175.2 (59.7) million, an increase of 193.5 percent.

  • BM&FBOVESPA Announces Portfolios For The IBOVESPA And Other Indices Valid For September-December 2012

    BM&FBOVESPA announces the BOVESPA Index (IBOVESPA) theoretical portfolio which will be valid for the period of September 03-December 30, 2012, based on the closing of the August 31, 2012 session. The new portfolio now includes common shares in CETIP ON and SUZANO PAPEL PNA, which brings its total to 69 stocks in 64 companies.

  • SET Goes Live With New Securities Trading Technology From Cinnober

    The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Cinnober have today announced a successful big-bang migration for the Thai bourse's securities trading infrastructure. The new securities trading system, called SET CONNECT, went live on September 3 and is based on Cinnober's high-performance TRADExpress technology.
