Shenzhen Stock Exchange Supports The Expansion Of Securities Company Short-term Bonds And Promotes The Asset Securitization For Margin Trading And Securities Lending

China Securities Regulatory Commission has recently decided to expand the scope for the pilot program of short-term bonds from 20 to all securities companies, and allow them to issue and transfer the short-term bonds via Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges, Inter-agency Quotation and Service System for Private Placement Products and other trading places. Meanwhile, securities companies are allowed to launch asset-backed securities for margin trading and securities lending. Thus far, the financing channels for securities companies have been further broadened.

ESMA Agrees To Further Renewal Of Short Selling Ban By Greek HCMC

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has issued its official opinion agreeing to a further renewal, for a period of seven days, of the emergency short selling prohibition originally imposed by the Hellenic Capital Market Commission (HMCM) under the Short Selling Regulation on Monday 6 July.

Statement By The IMF On Greece - SDR 360 million Principal Repayment Not Received

Mr. Gerry Rice, Director of Communications at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), made the following statement today regarding Greece’s financial obligations to the IMF due today:

“The SDR 360 million principal repayment (about EUR 456 million) due by Greece to the IMF today was not received. We have informed our Executive Board of this development. Greece’s arrears to the IMF total SDR 1.6 billion (about EUR 2.0 billion) to date.

“The request by the Greek authorities for an extension of the repayment obligation due on June 30th is expected to be discussed by the Executive Board in the coming weeks.”

Good evening everyone. Let me give you a debrief of our agenda. It was a regular Eurogroup meeting, which  followed a string of extra Eurogroup meetings the last couple of weeks. 

We started our meeting by discussing Greece again, but quite briefly and more in organisational terms than on substance today. We followed up on the conclusions of the summit last night. Briefly we discussed possibilities of bridge financing and looked at the timetable, of the steps to take in the coming days and weeks on Greece. Also we had a first round of debate on the 5 presidents' report. The debate will continue tomorrow in the Ecofin and we took stock of an assessment which the Commission is providing us with on the fiscal compact, in particular on the implementation of the fiscal compact in national procedures.

British Columbia Securities Commission Panel Fines And Permanently Bans North Vancouver Man And Two U.S. Citizens For Market Manipulation

A British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) panel has fined Mark Aaron McLeary, Robert Hainey, and Jerry Williams for engaging in market manipulation of shares in a company quoted on the U.S. Over-the-Counter Bulletin Board (OTCBB). The panel also permanently banned each of them from B.C.’s capital markets. 

CalPERS Reports Preliminary 2014-15 Fiscal Year Investment Returns -

The California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) today reported a preliminary 2.4 percent net return on investments for the 12-months that ended June 30, 2015. CalPERS assets at the end of the fiscal year stood at more than $301 billion.
