At the end of the settlement date of March 15, 2016, short interest in 2,298 Nasdaq Global Market^SM securities totaled 8,250,861,296  shares compared with 8,306,919,216 shares in 2,296 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of February 29, 2016. The Mid-March short interest represents 4.57 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with  4.05 days for the prior reporting period.

New York State Department of Financial Services: National Bank Of Pakistan Agrees To Enhance Anti-Money Laundering Compliance And Controls

The New York State Department of Financial Services (DFS) today announced that the National Bank of Pakistan (the Bank) has entered into a Written Agreement with DFS and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY) to strengthen compliance with Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering (BSA/AML) requirements, as well as the regulations issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) at the bank’s New York Branch.

Operation Principles of the New Market Making Program in VIOP have been updated as follows:

• Effective from April 1, 2016, USD/Ounce Gold, Gold (TRY/Gr) and Durum Wheat futures contracts will be included in the New Market Making Program based on revenue sharing.

• Effective from April 1, 2016, the number of Single Stock option contracts with different strike prices that the market makers are responsible for will be changed.

Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) held its Seventeenth Sixteenth General Assembly Meeting on Thursday, March 24, 2016. The meeting chaired by Mr. Marwan Al-Bataineh the chairman of the Board of Directors, in the presence of the members of the Board, the CEO of the ASE Mr. Nader Azar and a representative of the Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) Mr. Mithqal Obeidat . During the meeting, they discussed the report of the Board of Directors on the activities of the ASE for the year 2015 and its future plan; the participants listened  to the Auditor's Report on the ASE financial statements, and the financial position for the year 2015. Moreover, they also discussed the balance sheet, the account of revenues and expenditures, and the cash flow for the ASE. The financial statements for the year ended December 31st, 2015 have been endorsed.  and discuss any other issues.
