  • Financial Stability Oversight Council To Meet November 16

    On Wednesday, November 16, Secretary of the Treasury Jacob J. Lew will preside over a meeting of the Financial Stability Oversight Council (Council) at the Treasury Department.  The agenda will include both an executive and an open session.  The preliminary agenda for the open session includes an update on the work of the Alternative Reference Rates Committee; an update on the Council’s review of asset management products and activities; and revisions to the Council’s regulations under the Freedom of Information Act, in accordance with the FOIA improvement Act of 2016.

  • VIX Futures Volume In Non-U.S. Trading Hours Sets New Daily Record

    CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE®) today announced record volume was set in futures contracts on the CBOE Volatility Index® (VIX® Index) traded in non-U.S. trading hours with an estimated 263,663 contracts changing hands. This record surpasses the previous single-day record of 235,141 contracts set during the overnight session on June 24, 2016, when U.K. voters decided that Britain should leave the European Union, an event also known as “Brexit.”
