SEC: Company And Former Executives Paying Penalties For Accounting Violations

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that a Houston-based technology solutions company has agreed to pay a $2.5 million penalty to settle charges that it overstated profits in one of its business segments. Two then-executives at the company agreed to settle charges that they caused the violations to meet internal targets.

Federal Reserve Chair Yellen To Host Town Hall Meeting With Educators

Federal Reserve Board Chair Janet Yellen will host a town hall meeting with educators from across the country on January 12, 2017. The educators will join the Chair at 7 p.m. EST in the Board Room of the Board's main building in Washington, D.C. and participate via webcast from Federal Reserve Bank offices throughout the country. The Chair will speak briefly about the mission and responsibilities of the Federal Reserve System and then respond to questions from both in-person and webcast participants.

EBA Holds A Public Hearing On Covered Bonds

On 18 November 2016, from 13.00 to 16.00 UK time, the European Banking Authority (EBA) will be holding a public hearing to outline its draft proposals on the European covered bond framework. The hearing comes as a follow-up to the recommendation by the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB) and ahead of the expected publication of the final report by end of 2016.
