FIA Statement On EU Equivalence For UK Clearinghouses

Jackie Mesa, FIA's Chief Operating Officer & Senior Vice President of Global Policy, made the following statement on the equivalence decision announced by the European Commission.
"FIA welcomes the Commission’s proposed extension of the equivalence decision. While our members prefer a non-time limited equivalence determination, once finalised, the three-year extension will provide much needed certainty to EU market participants for the moment."

Dubai Financial Services Authority Decision To Fine Al Ramz Capital LLC For Failure To Report Suspicious Transactions Referred To The Financial Markets Tribunal

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) today published a Decision Notice against Al Ramz Capital LLC (Al Ramz), a DFSA Recognised Member, recording a DFSA finding that Al Ramz failed to report suspicious transactions and imposing a financial penalty of USD 25,000 (AED 91,813) on Al Ramz.

ESMA: Start Of DPE Regime On 3 February And End Of Publication Of Systematic Internalisers Data

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the EU’s financial markets regulator and supervisor, reminds market participants that the new regime for the reporting of Over the Counter (OTC) transactions for post-trade transparency purposes becomes fully operational on 3 February 2025. ESMA also informs stakeholders that the quarterly publication of systematic internalisers (SI) data will be discontinued with immediate effect.
