At the end of the settlement date of May 31, 2018, short interest in 2,332 Nasdaq Global Market^SMsecurities totaled 7,265,743,263 shares compared with 7,154,838,079 shares in 2,341 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of May 15, 2018. The end-of-May short interest represents 4.33 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.04 days for the prior reporting period.

Canadian Securities Regulators Provide Additional Guidance On Securities Law Implications For Offerings Of Tokens

The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) today published CSA Staff Notice 46-308 Securities Law Implications for Offerings of Tokens, which provides additional guidance on the applicability of securities laws to offerings of coins or tokens, including ones that are commonly referred to as “utility tokens.”.
TASE Launches New Index – The Tel Bond-Dollar Index - The Index Will Be Comprised Of Dollar-Linked Corporate Bonds Listed On TASE

The board of directors of the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) approved (June 7th, 2018) the launch of a new corporate bonds index – the “Tel Bond-Dollar Index”. The index will consist of dollar-linked corporate bonds listed on TASE. Following the launch of the new index, TASE will be calculating 29 Tel Bond indices, 10 of which were launched in 2017 and 6 additional indices were launched since the beginning of 2018.

EBA Issues Revised List Of ITS Validation Rules

The European Banking Authority (EBA) issued today a revised list of validation rules in its Implementing Technical Standards (ITS) on supervisory reporting, highlighting those which have been deactivated either for incorrectness or for triggering IT problems. Competent Authorities throughout the EU are informed that data submitted in accordance with these ITS should not be formally validated against the set of deactivated rules.

Municipal CUSIP Request Volume Climbs To Pre-Tax Cuts & Jobs Act Levels - Municipal Issuers Log Third Straight Month Of Increased Pre-Trade Activity

CUSIP Global Services (CGS) today announced the release of its CUSIP Issuance Trends Report for May 2018. The report, which tracks the issuance of new security identifiers as an early indicator of debt and capital markets activity, found a third straight monthly increase in requests for new municipal bond identifiers. CUSIP request volume for U.S. and international corporate securities also surged in May. This is suggestive of an increased pace of new securities issuance in the second and third quarter of 2018.

The attorney Giulia Bertezzolo has been appointed as general secretary of CONSOB (resolution n. 20466 of June 1, 2018).
