• The ETF segment at SIX is gaining another high-profile provider: As of today, 5 smart beta ETF issued by Fidelity International trade on SIX. This takes the number of ETF providers available via SIX to a new high of 25, and the number of ETFs to a record of 1’394. Fidelity International is already the third new ETF issuer joining the Swiss stock exchange, after J.P. Morgan and Franklin Templeton.

Shanghai-London Stock Connect Advanced Effectively

In order to implement the results of Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the UK and the China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) and the London Stock Exchange (LSE) have been working together closely under the guidance of the securities regulators of the two sides since 2015, continuously advancing the feasibility study and various institutional arrangements for operation for the Shanghai-London Stock Connect. Recently, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) publicly solicited opinions on the "Rules for Regulation of the Depositary Receipt Business for the Market Connectivity of Shanghai Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange", indicating that the Shanghai-London Stock Connect program will be implemented soon, and the preparations have entered the last stage before the official launch.

TOCOM To List Technically Specified Rubber (TSR) Futures On October 9

The Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. (TOCOM) has scheduled the listing of Technically Specified Rubber (TSR) futures contracts for October 9, 2018, pending regulatory approval from the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.

MSCI And Tadawul To Launch Joint Saudi Arabia Tradeable Index For Domestic And International Investors

MSCI Inc., a leading provider of indexes and portfolio construction and risk management tools and services for global investors, today announced the signing of an agreement with the Saudi Stock Exchange Co. (Tadawul), the largest stock exchange in the region in terms of market capitalization and turnover, to create a joint tradeable index that can serve as the basis for investment instruments including derivatives and ETFs. 

CME Group Announces Henry Hub Natural Gas Futures Open Interest Reaches Record 1.62 Million Contracts

CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced Henry Hub Natural Gas futures open interest reached a record 1,617,589 contracts on Friday, August 31, surpassing the previous record of 1,606,874 contracts set on August 17, 2018. Open interest represents the total number of outstanding positions held by all participants in a given market.

SEC Names Rebecca J. Olsen As Director Of The Office Of Municipal Securities

SEC Charges Telecommunications Expense Management Company With Accounting Fraud

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged a telecommunications expense management company for its use of fraudulent accounting practices that artificially boosted company revenues between 2013 and 2015.  Four former members of the company’s senior management team were also charged for their roles in the alleged misconduct.
