Nasdaq Clearing AB has decided to declare a clearing member in the firm’s commodity market in default. The member is active in the electricity derivatives markets through trading on the Norwegian Stock Exchange, Nasdaq Oslo ASA. These financial instruments are centrally cleared in Nasdaq Clearing AB, a firm under Finansinspektionen’s (FI’s) supervision.

At the end of the settlement date of August 31, 2018, short interest in 2,365 Nasdaq Global Market^SM securities totaled 7,314,133,731 shares compared with 7,299,646,328 shares in 2,360 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of August 15, 2018. The end-of-August short interest represents 4.80 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.90 days for the prior reporting period.

Dawn D. Stump was ceremoniously sworn in today to serve as a Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Former CFTC Commissioner Jill E. Sommers administered the oath of office to Stump at the Fearless Girl Statue in New York City.
