Good afternoon.  I wish to thank the D.C. Bar for inviting me to participate in this important conversation, and for the hospitality extended by our hosts at Reed Smith today.  Bar associations serve a pivotal role in overseeing the practice of law in its many forms.  In that way, they are a fundamental part of civil society, helping to keep the United States of America a nation of free people treated equally under laws that are rooted in our founding principles.  We will spend some time today talking about the importance of principles and their role in carrying out another important task – the proper administration of law by the CFTC and its staff.

Nadex Product Schedule For The China Holiday During The Week Of September 30, 2019

Due to the China holidays during the week of September 30, 2019, no Weekly China 50 contracts will be listed for the duration of the week.  Daily China 50 contracts will open and close at their regular times for trade date Monday, September 30, 2019, however, no Daily China 50 contracts will be listed from Tuesday, October 1, 2019 through Friday, October 4, 2019.  Please refer to the Holiday Product Schedule Guidelines for specific product trading hours.

IMF Executive Board Selects Kristalina Georgieva As Managing Director

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) today selected Kristalina Georgieva to serve as IMF Managing Director and Chair of the Executive Board for a five-year term starting on October 1, 2019. Ms. Georgieva, who succeeds Christine Lagarde, is the first person from an emerging market economy to lead the IMF since its inception in 1944.
