In my comment to the SEC last year, I recommended requiring the Exchanges to spin-off their data and technology business. It would limit their economy of scope and urge them to refocus on the economy of scale in the listing and trading business. The fairness of this mutually exclusive approach is based on trust that the market can best determine the worthiness of these data and technology businesses.

Egyptian Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly met with Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali El-Moselhy, President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce Ibrahim Al-Arabi, Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange Mohamed Farid Saleh, and officials of a number of concerned parties to follow up the steps of establishing the commodities exchange in Egypt.

Periodic Review For The BIST-KYD Corporate Eurobond Indices For The Period October-December 2019 Has Been Finalized

In accordance with the article 3.3. of BIST-KYD Indices Ground Rules, periodic review for the BIST-KYD Corporate Eurobond Indices for the period October-December 2019 (October 1, 2019 – December 31, 2019) has been finalized. There is no Eurobond to be included in or excluded from the BIST-KYD Corporate Eurobond USD and BIST-KYD Corporate Eurobond USD (TRY) Indices and they will continue to be calculated with the same list of constituents in the period October-December 2019.

SEC Adopts New Rule To Modernize Regulation Of Exchange-Traded Funds

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that is has voted to adopt a new rule and form amendments that are designed to modernize the regulation of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), by establishing a clear and consistent framework for the vast majority of ETFs operating today. The adoption will facilitate greater competition and innovation in the ETF marketplace, leading to more choice for investors. It also will allow ETFs to come to market more quickly without the time or expense of applying for individual exemptive relief. In addition, the Commission voted to issue an exemptive order that further harmonizes related relief for broker-dealers.
