  • Non-Jordanian Ownership At The Amman Stock Exchange Reached 51.1%

    The value of shares that were bought by non-Jordanian investors at the Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) in March 2019 was JD 47.6 million, representing 28.3% of the overall trading value, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JD 88.2 million. As a result, the net of non-Jordanian investments in March 2019 showed a decrease by JD 40.6 million, compared with an increase of JD 1.6 million during the same month of 2018.

    The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) today announced that the term of CSA Chair Louis Morisset, President and CEO of the Autorité des marchés financiers, has been renewed for a further two years, until March 31, 2021. Mr. Morisset was first appointed CSA Chair in March 2015.

  • CME Group Averaged 19.1 Million Contracts Per Day In March 2019

    CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, reached average daily volume (ADV) of 19.1 million contracts during March 2019, compared to 20.8 million contracts in March 2018. In addition, total daily exchange trading volume surpassed 20 million contracts on each of the final six trading days in March. Open interest (OI) at the end of March 2019 was 126 million contracts, up 9% from year-end 2018 and unchanged from March 2018. First-quarter 2019 ADV marked the third-highest quarterly ADV ever with 18.6 million contracts, down from a record 22.2 million contracts in the first quarter of 2018.
