BME: MARF Registers A New Bond Issue By UCI

MARF, BME’s Fixed Income market, today registered a new 82 million-euro Contingent Convertible Bond (COCO) issue by UCI, the holding company of the UCI Group and a 50%-50% joint-venture by Banco Santander and BNP Paribas. The objective of this bond issue – which has been privately placed among the financial institution’s shareholders - is to strengthen the Group’s equity, anticipate the future regulatory capital requirements for specialized credit institutions (EFCs) and to diversify its financing sources.

Ravi Menon Appointed Chair Of The Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Asian Consultative Council

The Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has appointed Ravi Menon as Chair of the BIS Asian Consultative Council (ACC) from 26 September 2019. Mr Menon is Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore. The term of appointment for the ACC Chairman is two years.

UK Financial Conduct Authority: Update To June 2019 Joint Statement On Opportunistic Strategies In The Credit Derivatives Market

On 24 June 2019, the Chairmen of the US Securities and Exchange Commission and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission, along with the Chief Executive of the FCA, released a joint statement on opportunistic strategies in the credit derivatives markets. The joint statement outlined mutual concerns about the pursuit of these strategies and the adverse impact they may have on the integrity, confidence and reputation of the credit derivatives markets, as well as markets more generally.

Bank Of England: Bank Rate Maintained At 0.75% - September 2019

The Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee has voted unanimously to maintain Bank Rate at 0.75%. The committee also voted unanimously to maintain the stock of corporate bond purchases and UK government bond purchases.
