SIX Trading Key Figures: July 2019

In July, trading turnover on the Swiss stock exchange was up 26.0% on the previous month and reached CHF 138.1 billion. There was also an increase in the number of transactions by 71.4% to 6,866,658. In comparison with the corresponding period last year, trading turnover was down by -0.3% at CHF 831.2 billion, while the number of trades dropped by -7.4% to 33,472,322. Since the beginning of the year, the SMI® rose by 17.7% and reached 9,919.3 points at the end of July.

EBA Updates Its Single Rulebook Q&A Tool To Reflect Publication In The OJEU Of The Revised CRD / CRR / BRRD Texts

Following the recent publication of the CRD5 / CRR2 / BRRD2 in the Official Journal of the EU, the EBA has now updated its Single Rulebook Q&A tool [https://eba.europa.eu/single-rule-book-qa] to reflect these texts therein and thus allow for related questions to be submitted. The Interactive Single Rulebook (ISRB) will be updated in due course.

PEGAS Futures: Strong Volumes In July Including A Record Month On CEGH VTP

PEGAS, the pan-European gas trading platform of EEX Group operated by Powernext, registered 153.1 TWh on its Futures segment in July 2019. Those strong results were driven by the great performance of the Dutch TTF, which has reported its second best month since the creation of the platform with 126.3 TWh (record month: 131.0 TWh in February 2016).

- Increase of the value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book1 on the GPW Main Market by 13.0% YoY to PLN 16.7 billion in July 2019
- Increase in the average daily value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book on the GPW Main Market by 8.1% YoY to PLN 724.0 million in July 2019
- Increase of the total volume of trading in derivatives by 1.8% YoY to 513.6 thousand contracts in July 2019
- Increase of the total volume of trading in electricity by 16.8% to 17.3 TWh in July 2019
- Increase of the total volume of trading in gas by 6.6% YoY to 12.8 TWh in July 2019
- Increase of the volume of spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) by 181.0% YoY to 67.8 ktoe in July 2019

CME Group Averaged 16.6 Million Contracts Per Day In July 2019, Up 23% From July 2018

CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, reached average daily volume (ADV) of 16.6 million contracts during July 2019, up 23% from July 2018. Open interest (OI) at the end of July was 139 million contracts, up 20% from year-end 2018 and up 15% from July 2018.
