  • BME: MARF Admits A 100 Million-Euro Commercial Paper Programme To Trading From Cementos Molins

    BME’s Fixed Income Market, MARF, today has admitted Cementos Molins´ first Commercial Paper (CP) Programme to trading. With this debut in the fixed income markets, Cementos Molins will be able to place CPs over the next 12 months with a maximum outstanding balance of 100 million euros and maturity terms up to 24 months.



  • Bank Of England: Bank Rate Maintained At 0.1% - November 2020 - Monetary Policy Summary And Minutes Of The Monetary Policy Committee meeting

    The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) sets monetary policy to meet the 2% inflation target, and in a way that helps to sustain growth and employment.  In that context, its challenge at present is to respond to the economic and financial impact of the Covid pandemic.  At its meeting ending on 4 November 2020, the MPC voted unanimously to maintain Bank Rate at 0.1%.  The Committee voted unanimously for the Bank of England to maintain the stock of sterling non-financial investment-grade corporate bond purchases, financed by the issuance of central bank reserves, at £20 billion.  The Committee voted unanimously for the Bank of England to continue with the existing programme of £100 billion of UK government bond purchases, financed by the issuance of central bank reserves, and also for the Bank of England to increase the target stock of purchased UK government bonds by an additional £150 billion, financed by the issuance of central bank reserves, to take the total stock of government bond purchases to £875 billion.

    • Market capitalisation was $43.3 trillion at the end of October 2020, an increase of 36 per cent from $31.8 trillion for the same period last year.
    • The average daily turnover in October 2020 was $117.5 billion, an increase of 55 per cent from $75.9 billion for the same period last year.
    • The average daily turnover for the first ten months of 2020 was $125.0 billion, an increase of 40 per cent when compared with $89.0 billion for the same period last year.
    • The average daily turnover of CBBCs for the first ten months of 2020 was $9.8 billion, an increase of 17 per cent when compared with $8.4 billion for the same period last year.
    • The average daily turnover of ETFs for the first ten months of 2020 was $4.9 billion, an increase of 9 per cent when compared with $4.5 billion for the same period last year.
    • Funds raised through IPOs for the first ten months of 2020 was $249.1 billion, an increase of 66 per cent when compared with $150.4 billion for the same period last year.
    • Total funds raised for the first ten months of 2020 was $534.7 billion, an increase of 105 per cent when compared with $260.6 billion for the same period last year.
