Indonesia Stock Exchange Announced The Free Float Implementation In Index Calculations

As an effort to develop the Indonesia Capital Market so that market activities always run in an orderly, fair and efficient manner, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) has announced a schedule for the Implementation of Free Float in Index Calculations on Monday (31/5). To date, there are 38 indices on the IDX, and which 9 (nine) indices already use the Free Float methodology. While other indices still use the 'Market Capitalization Weighting', in which the weight of the stock price index is calculated using all listed shares.

Today, Chair Gensler announced that he has directed the SEC staff to consider whether to recommend that the Commission revisit its recent regulatory actions taken with respect to proxy voting advice businesses and its longstanding interpretation of proxy solicitation. Additionally, the staff announced that it will not recommend an enforcement action against a proxy voting advice business that fails to comply with the Commission’s existing requirements for proxy voting advice.
