  • Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPACs) Can Now Be Listed And Traded In Switzerland

    As of 6th December 2021, SPACs can be listed and traded on the SIX Swiss Exchange. Authorization from all of the relevant authorities has been obtained. The new listing standard for SPACs caters for the specific characteristics of these vehicles while upholding an appropriate degree of investor protection.

    On November 12, the leaders of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (“SZSE”) watched a press conference of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (“CPC” or “Party”) to listen carefully to the interpretation of the spirit of the sixth plenary session of the 19th Central Committee of the CPC (“Plenary Session”), and they also held a study meeting to thoroughly study and comprehend the spirit of the Plenary Session, understand and grasp the essence and rich connotations, and study and arrange the study and implementation work of the SZSE.

  • CalPERS Board Selects New Asset Allocation For Investment Portfolio, Keeps Discount Rate At 6.8%

    The CalPERS Board of Administration today selected a new asset allocation mix that will guide the fund’s investment portfolio for the next four years, while at the same time retaining the current 6.8% target it assumes those investments will earn over the long term. The board also approved adding 5% leverage to increase diversification.

    Pursuant to Section 5c(c)(1) of the Commodity Exchange Act, as amended (“Act”), and Section 40.6(d) of the regulations promulgated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (the “Commission”) under the Act (the “Regulations”), North American Derivatives Exchange, Inc. (“Nadex”, the “Exchange”) hereby provides notice that due to increased or decreased volatility, as the case may be, in the underlying markets upon which the Nadex contracts are based, Nadex made changes to the strike widths of various contracts during the week of November 8, 2021 as indicated in the Weekly Notice.

Yellen met with Chilean Finance Minister Rodrigo Andrés Cerda.  Secretary Yellen highlighted Treasury’s commitment to fighting climate change with all available tools at its disposal, and commended the Minister for Chile’s strong efforts on this front.  Secretary Yellen discussed Chile’s economic policies to cushion the economic impact of the pandemic, and expressed hope that recovery underway will be sustained.

    We’re now about six months away from implementation of part of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) revised swap data reporting rules, making it the first regulator to amend its reporting framework to incorporate globally harmonized data elements intended to improve the consistency and accuracy of reported data. That’s an important and welcome step, but, as with any new or amended rule, this does come with compliance challenges – not least, the need for each firm to accurately interpret the requirements and build the relevant changes into their reporting systems.
