ASIC Extends Relief For Business Introduction Services

ASIC has extended the existing relief for business introduction services until 1 October 2022. The extended relief is subject to a new requirement that persons who rely on the relief from 1 April 2022 must provide notice to ASIC.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) issued the following statement in response to the Senate confirmation of four new CFTC Commissioners:

CFTC: Court Finds El Paso Man and His Firm Liable For Defrauding Forex And Cryptocurrency Clients Of More Than $7.2 Million

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today announced that a consent order was entered in the Western District of Texas in an enforcement action against defendants Abner Alejandro Tinoco, and his company, Kikit & Mess Investments, LLC, a self-styled investment firm, finding that they misappropriated in excess of $7.2 million from investors who intended to trade forex or cryptocurrency in managed accounts. The order imposes injunctive relief, including bans relating to trading and registration.

The confirmation of these four accomplished professionals means that the CFTC has the most diverse set of Commissioners in the agency’s history,” said Chairman Behnam. “I thank Senators Stabenow and Boozman for their bipartisan leadership that brought these nominees before the Senate.
