    The data for the year 2021 confirms the growth trend observed by the end of 2020, with many indicators on stock markets around the world reaching record levels. In the US, for example, the S&P 500 reached 70 all-time highs in the year, a figure second only to the record set in 1995. The Stoxx 600 in Europe also recorded a significant jump last year, the second-best yearly performance in the last decade. In the second half of 2021, new post-summer highs were also recorded for a variety of European indices, including the CAC 40, Italy 40, and Dax 40.

  • Dubai Financial Services Authority Fine Of USD 175,000 And Ban Against Gilles Rollet For Serious Misconduct Upheld By The Financial Markets Tribunal

    The Financial Markets Tribunal (FMT) has upheld enforcement action taken by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) against Mr Gilles Rollet for serious misconduct, including misleading the DFSA, and has ordered Mr Rollet to pay half of the DFSA’s costs.

  • TFEX Posts 2021 Strong Performance, Charting A Path For Further Growth

    Thailand Futures Exchange PCL (TFEX) delivered continuous growth in 2021 with a 13-percent increase in total trading volume to 135,117,308 contracts or 560,653 contracts per day, and a 25-percent surge in the number of total trading accounts to 270,494. Overall, Stock Futures was the most active product, dominating 52 percent of the total trading volume, followed by SET50 Futures at 35 percent and Gold Online Futures at 8 percent. Moreover, the sharp increase in trading volume was seen in Silver Online Futures, Gold Online Futures and USD Futures due to an increase in volatility of precious metal prices and exchange rate last year. The open interest at the end of December 2021 soared 72 percent from a year earlier to 3.78 million contracts. In 2021, TFEX extended trading hours for USD Futures product until midnight and added Silver Online Futures' new quarterly contract month.
