Written Reply To Singapore Parliamentary Question On Corporate Governance Standards For Listed Companies

Question:
To ask the Prime Minister (a) what are the plans under consideration to raise corporate governance standards for listed companies in Singapore; and (b) whether the Government is considering imposing regulatory requirements for companies to meet minimum governance standards such as attaining minimum Singapore Governance and Transparency Index scores.

Dalian Commodity Exchange: Notice On Adjusting Trading Fee Rates Of Iron Ore Futures Contracts

It is decided upon discussion that starting from the trading on November 9, 2023 (the night trading session on November 8, 2023), the trading fee rates of iron ore futures contract 2401, contract 2402, contract 2403, contract 2404 and contract 2405 shall be adjusted as follows:

- In October 2023, the average daily number of trades was down 9% on the pcp. The average daily value traded onmarket of $4.952 billion was down 12% on the pcp.
- Volatility (as measured by the average daily movement in the All Ordinaries Index) was 0.6% in October, down from 1.0% in the pcp.
- Future volatility (as measured by the S&P/ASX 200 VIX) in October was an average of 13.6, down 28% on pcp.

Dalian Commodity Exchange: Notice On Adjusting Trading Limits On Relative Iron Ore Futures Contracts

According to the Measures for Risk Management of Dalian Commodity Exchange, Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) has decided upon discussion that from the trading on November 8, 2023 (the night trading session on November 7, 2023), the trading volume of opening long and short positions on iron ore futures contract I2401, I2402, I2403, I2404 and I2405 of any Non-Futures Company Member or client shall not exceed 1,000 lots on any single day respectively, and the trading volume of opening long and short positions on the other iron ore futures contracts shall not exceed 2,000 lots on any single day respectively.

SET Announces SET ESG Ratings For 193 Listed Companies

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has renamed Thailand Sustainability Investment (THSI) to “SET ESG Ratings” and announced ESG assessment results in rating scales with four levels: AAA, AA, A and BBB, aiming to provide more comprehensive information to investors. In 2023, 193 listed companies have passed the selection criteria and have been assigned SET ESG Ratings, up from 166 companies in the previous year. This reflects that listed companies have placed increasing importance on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects in their business operations.
