Local traders in China’s interbank market reported a moderate tightening of liquidity and a notable decline in economic sentiment in May, with participants concerned the recovery lacks momentum given recent weak data, the latest MNI China Liquidity Survey showed. The MNI China Liquidity Condition Index rose to 55.3 in May, up from 51.3 in April, the fourth consecutive month of tightening, with 28.9% of the traders reporting tighter conditions.

Wu Yansheng, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Board of CASC, and Li Zhongbao, Chief Engineer of CASC; Cai Jianchun, Deputy Party Secretary and President of SSE, and Lyu Hao, member of the Party Committee and Executive Vice President of SSE, attended the signing ceremony and held discussions. Tolstedt, in which she has agreed to pay a $3 million penalty stemming from charges brought in 2020 for her role in allegedly misleading investors about the success of the Community Bank, Wells Fargo’s core business. The SEC previously settled related charges against Wells Fargo and its former CEO and Chairman, John Stumpf.
