CBOT 10-Year Agency Contracts Hit Critical Milestone -- 20,000 Daily Open Interest Level Fifteen Days In A Row

The Chicago Board of Trade announced today that CBOT members have passed another critical milestone in the growth of the 10-Year agency note futures contract. CBOT members have traded above the 20,000 open interest level 15 days in a row, and set open interest records on the last five trading days.

CBOE Eliminates All Fees On Customer Stock Option Orders

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) today announced that effective May 1, 2000 it is eliminating all Exchange fees for public customer stock option orders regardless of size or routing method. Currently, customer fees for stock option orders that are not electronically routed include a 9-cent transaction fee, plus a 5-cent trade match fee and a 3-cent floor brokerage fee.

On April 17, OME RSS3 futures opened easier on stop loss selling by speculators and on fresh selling by bears due to the yen's rise to the 103 yen level against US dollar after the plunge in NY stock prices. On April 17, OME Aluminium futures opened sharply lower with some contract months falling to the day's limit-lows after the considerable drop in LME three-month aluminium by $37 to $1462 at the weekend. CBOE Announces Open Interest At Record Level

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that open interest in CBOE traded options reached a new record level on Thursday, April 20, 2000. At the close of business on Thursday, 48,950,423 contracts were outstanding compared to the previous record of 48,050,993 contracts, which was set on January 21, 2000. A new record was also set for open interest in stock options traded at CBOE, with 44,505,303 contracts outstanding, beating the January 21, 2000 record of 43,714,397 contracts
