Dalian Commodity Exchange Deals With Six Cases Of Abnormal Trading In July 2025

Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) continues to investigate and handle abnormal trading activities and violations for the purposes of performing front-line market supervision responsibilities, regulating futures trading activities, preventing and mitigating market risks and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of market participants. In July 2025, six cases of abnormal trading were investigated and handled.

ASX Public Statement Regarding TPG Telecom

This morning our Markets Announcements Office made an error in processing an announcement from Infomedia (ASX: IFM). The Infomedia announcement stated that it had entered a scheme of arrangement under which private equity group TPG Capital Asia would acquire 100% of its shares. This error meant that TPG Telecom (ASX: TPG), was incorrectly cross referenced on that announcement.

As of August 1, the product recorded an average daily volume of 118,482 contracts over 26 trading days, with a single-day high of 628,007 contracts, driven by heightened market activity following the U.S. announcement of reciprocal tariffs on Taiwan.

- In July 2025, the average daily number of trades was up 34% on the pcp. The average daily value traded on-market of $5.952 billion was up 18% on the pcp.
- Volatility (as measured by the average daily movement in the All Ordinaries Index) was 0.4% in July, compared to 0.7% in the pcp.
- Future volatility (as measured by the S&P/ASX 200 VIX) in July was an average of 11.3, down 4% on pcp.

Today, the Division of Corporation Finance spoke in the form of a statement on liquid staking activities that purports “to provide greater clarity on the application of the federal securities laws to crypto assets.”[1] But instead of clarifying the legal landscape, today’s statement, like other recent staff statements before it, only muddies the waters.[2]
