Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Updates TA 25 and TA 100 Indexes

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange announced that as of August 1, 1999, it will update the composition of the TA-25 and TA-100 indexes, the bourse's two major stock indexes. Matav and Housing & Construction will be added to the TA 25 index. They replace First International Bank 5 and Dead Sea Bromine.

SEHK, HKMA and HKSCC signed agreements for the listing of EFN on the Stock Exchange

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK) signed a Listing Agreement for Exchange Fund Notes (EFNs) today (Monday) with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA). The HKMA also signed an agreement with Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited (HKSCC) to admit EFNs as eligible securities in CCASS, the Central Clearing And Settlement System.

New exchange member at the Icelandic Stock Exchange

The Board of the Iceland Stock Exchange last month accepted the membership application of MP Verdbref hf. (Securities company). The membership became active today. MP Verdbref hf. is located at Gardastraeti 38, 101 Reykjavik, and its president is Mr. Margeir Petursson.

Australia short of CGT volunteers, says ASX

The Australian Stock Exchange ("ASX") has released a study on the economic gains from reform of Capital Gains Tax in Australia. The study was undertaken by Mr Alan Reynolds, Senior Fellow and Director of Economic Research at the highly respected US-based Hudson Institute.

Kansas City Board of Trade seeks to split ISDEX, Internet stock index contract

The board of directors of the Kansas City Board of Trade today has approved a split in the exchange's ISDEX, Internet stock index contract from its current value of $100 times the futures price to $25 times the futures price.

Six-Month Record at Deutsche Börse Clearing

Settlement of registered shares with limited transferability rose substantially during the first half of the year. Deutsche Börse Clearing changed over almost half a million registered shares (474,398) with its CASCADE-RS special settlement system for registered shares, an increase of 80 percent compared with the same period of last year and almost as many as the total settlement volume last year (487,744).

NYMEX Appoints Two Public Directors

The New York Mercantile Exchange recently appointed Harley Lippman, founder and chief executive officer of Genesis 10, an information technology company, and Robert Steele, a former public director of the Exchange and vice chairman of John Ryan Company, an international bank marketing firm, to two-year terms as public directors on the board of directors.
