Stock Exchange of Thailand Announces New Calculation Method for Market Capitalization To Begin November 6, 2000

The Stock Exchange of Thailand has revised the calculation method for determining total market capitalization, taking derivative warrants and unit trusts out of the calculation, in order to reflect the wealth of all listed securities more accurately and to be more completely in accordance with international standards. This new method will be effective from November 6, 2000 onwards.

OM Technology’s SAXESS System Chosen By Yet Another Exchange

The Stock Exchange Council of the Oslo Stock Exchange has yesterday approved the agreement between OM Technology and the Oslo Stock Exchange for the delivery of OM Technology’s SAXESS system for equity trading. Trading on the SAXESS system on the Oslo Stock Exchange will commence in the fourth quarter of 2001. The order is worth over SEK 120 million and includes delivery, support and operation for five years.

Olso Stock Exchange: A turbulent October

October was a turbulent month on world stockmarkets, pretty much as usual. This year October can safely be split down the middle - the first half representing the downside and the second half bringing a number of advances. Here in Norway the Oslo all-share index fell 0.8 %, primarily as a result of declines for several oil-related shares. Internationally it went both ways - mostly down.

FSA Grants Jiway Recognised Investment Exchange (RIE) Status

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) yesterday announced the approval of Jiway as a Recognised Investment Exchange (RIE) in the UK. This means that Jiway will be a regulated and transparent marketplace for retail brokers and their clients when trading commences on 17 November, 2000. Jiway is 60 per cent. owned by OM and 40 per cent. owned by Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, and will be the eighth RIE in the UK.

Eurex Launches Stock Options On French Dow Jones Euro STOXX 50 Equities - Continuing Growth In Importance Of European Index

Eurex, the international derivatives market, is introducing options and LEPOs (Low Exercise Price Options) on eight French equities. Trading in the new products is set to begin on November 20, 2000. Eurex is thus adding 16 products to its European equity options segment and further expanding its leading market position in this segment. The eight equities are: Aventis, AXA UAP, BNP Paribas, Carrefour, France Telecom, L´Oreal, Total Fina and Vivendi. A total of 32 equities from the Dow Jones Euro

Copenhagen Stock Exchange: New All-Time Highs On The Equity Market In October - New All-Time Highs On The Equity Market In October: Turnover Amounted To DKKbn 85, The Value Of Average Daily Trading Amounted To Just Under DKKbn 4 And The KFX Index Reached

Equity trading reached a new all-time high in October with an average daily trading volume amounting to DKK 3.9 billion, a 3 per cent rise on the record month of September. The value of total equity trading in October amounted to a record DKK 85.3 billion, slightly higher than the previous record of DKK 85.1 billion set in March.

CBOT'S October Volume At 18,028,573; Volume On a/c/e Tops Two Million Contracts In October

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) today announced trading volume of 18,028,573 contracts for October 2000, up 8.4% from September 2000. The new a/c/e electronic trading platform volume at 2,282,747 contracts was up 13.8% from September 2000.
