  • Minneapolis Wheat Options Open Interest Tops 10,000

    The Minneapolis Grain Exchange (MGEX) announced today that open interest in hard red spring wheat options topped 10,000 contracts for the first time ever on May 3 and has climbed steadily higher since then. Open interest yesterday, May 9, stood at 10,288 contracts. The previous daily open interest record before this, established October 19, 1999, was 9,481 contracts.

  • KCBT Wheat Options Volume Surpasses All Previous Single-Day Records

    Trading volume in Kansas City Board of Trade wheat options on Wednesday set a new single-day record. Wednesday's official wheat options volume was 4,322 contracts, which broke the previous single-day record of 3,460 contracts set barely a year ago, on May 5, 2000.
