Japan Financial Services Agency: Preparation For Permanent Cessation Of LIBOR

The publication of London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) based on the methodology referencing rates provided by panel banks (panel-based LIBOR) was ceased at the end of December 2021 except for certain USD LIBOR settings.(note) ICE Benchmark Administration (IBA) has announced that it intends to cease the publication of remaining tenors of USD LIBOR at the end of June 2023.

Shanghai Stock Exchange And SET Cooperate On Index Display

On March 24, 2023, the Shanghai Stock Exchange (hereinafter referred to as SSE) and the Stock Exchange of Thailand (hereinafter referred to as SET) successfully entered into a cooperation on mutual display of index quotations. On the same day, the first 5 index quotations of the SSE and CSI indices, namely SSE Composite Index, SSE 50 Index, CSI 300 Index, SSE Science and Technology Innovation Board 50 Index and CSI Small Cap 500 Index, were officially displayed on the SETTRADE website of the SET. Meanwhile, 3 core index quotations of SET, namely SET Index, SET 50 Index and Thailand Sustainability Investment Index (THIS) were simultaneously launched on the official website of China Securities Index Co., Ltd.

Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission Concludes Consultation On Introduction Of New Regulated Activity For Depositaries Of Public Funds

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) today released consultation conclusions on proposed legislative and code amendments to introduce Type 13 regulated activity (RA 13), a new regime to regulate depositaries (ie, top-level trustees and custodians) of SFC-authorised collective investment schemes (Note 1).
