Asia-Pacific Deal Activity Down By 20.9% YoY In H1 2023, Reveals GlobalData

A total of 7,245 deals (mergers & acquisitions (M&A), private equity, and venture financing deals) were announced in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region during the first half (H1) of 2023, which was a decline of 20.9% over 9,154 deals announced during the same period in 2022, reveals GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.

(Nasdaq: TTD), will become a component of the Nasdaq-100 Index® (Nasdaq: NDX), the Nasdaq-100 Equal Weighted Index (Nasdaq: NDXE), and the Nasdaq-100 Ex-Tech Sector Index (Nasdaq: NDXX) prior to market open on Monday, July 17, 2023. The Trade Desk, Inc. will replace Activision Blizzard, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) in the Nasdaq-100 Index®, the Nasdaq-100 Equal Weighted Index, and the Nasdaq-100 Ex-Tech Sector Index. Activision Blizzard, Inc. will also be removed from the Nasdaq-100 ESG Index (Nasdaq: NDXESG) prior to market open on Monday, July 17, 2023.

Thank you, Chair Gensler. Today, the Commission proposes to amend the broker-dealer customer protection rule to require certain broker-dealers to compute their customer and broker-dealer reserve deposit requirements on a daily basis, rather than weekly. As the Proposing Release describes, carrying broker-dealers—that is, those that maintain custody of customer securities and cash—currently must have a special reserve account at a bank that holds qualified securities and/or cash in an amount determined by a weekly computation. The proposed amendments would require some carrying broker-dealers—specifically, those beyond a threshold of average total credits of $250 million—to make such computations and required deposits on a daily basis.
