GLEIF Supports World Trade Board Plan to Empower SMEs Through Trade and Finance - ‘Financial Inclusion In Trade Roadmap’ Provides A Holistic Framework For Public And Private Sector Collaboration To Accelerate Change

The Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) has contributed to the World Trade Board’s new plan to drive greater access to trade finance for MSMEs, the Financial Inclusion in Trade Roadmap. Launched today for consultation, the plan identifies five key areas where coordinated action can make a significant impact. Crucially, the Roadmap aims to accelerate the pace of change by providing a holistic framework for public and private sector collaboration.

Inflows Of US$160m As Investors Express Concerns For TradFi - CoinShares: Fund Flows

• Digital asset investment products saw inflows totalling US$160m, the largest since July 2022. A marked turnaround following 6 weeks of outflows that totalled US$408m
• Bitcoin was the primary beneficiary, seeing inflows of US$ 128m, and expressed recently by some of our clients as a safe haven for the first time.
• Although not all share this view as short-bitcoin also saw inflows of US$31m.

ASEAN Finance Sectoral Bodies Release Asean Taxonomy For Sustainable Finance Version 2

The ASEAN Taxonomy Board (ATB), representing ASEAN finance sectoral bodies, today took the next step towards meeting the Paris Agreement commitments, with the release of the ASEAN Taxonomy for Sustainable Finance Version 2 (Version 2). While the first version laid out the broad framework of the ASEAN Taxonomy, Version 2 consists of the (a) complete Foundation Framework comprising detailed methodologies for assessing economic activities; and (b) Technical Screening Criteria (TSC) for the first focus sector ie Electricity, Gas, Steam and Air Conditioning Supply sector (Energy sector) under the Plus Standard. TSCs for other focus sectors will be published in the subsequent versions of the ASEAN Taxonomy. Version 2 builds on the conceptual thinking of the multi-tiered framework outlined in Version 1. The multi-tiered framework is intended to facilitate transition of ASEAN Member States (AMS) recognising the diversity in economic development, financial sector, and infrastructure maturity. 

Global Carbon Council Collaborates With The Egyptian Exchange To Scale Up And Accelerate Regional Climate Action

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) that has recently announced launching Africa’s first regulated voluntary carbon market, and Global Carbon Council (GCC), an internationally recognized provider of high‐integrity carbon credits, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote regional climate actions and strengthen carbon markets regionally and globally.
