The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC's) Office of General Counsel issued a no-action letter on April 7, 2003, permitting the offer and sale in the United States of Euronext Amsterdam N.V.'s (Euronext Amsterdam's) futures contracts based on the Amsterdam Exchanges Index (AEX Index): the AEX Index Futures Contract and the Light AEX Index Futures Contract. The Light AEX Index Futures Contract is a smaller version of the AEX Index Futures Contract.
CBOE Closed Friday, April 18, 2003 Expiration Schedule Modified

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) will be closed on Friday, April 18, 2003. Therefore, the last day of trading for CBOE listed stock options and S&P 100 Index (OEX) options with April expiration, will be Thursday, April 17, and the last day of trading for European-style index options with April expiration will be Wednesday, April 16, 2003. All CBOE index products are European-style, except for OEX.
BrokerTec Futures Exchange: Good Friday Holiday

BrokerTec Futures Exchange (BTEX) will close for trading of all futures contracts on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. (New York time). BTEX will remain closed on Friday, April 18, 2003, and will reopen for trading at 2:00 a.m. (New York time) on Monday, April 21, 2003.

UK's Financial Services Authority Proposals On Fund Managers Herald More Accountability To Investors

Fund managers would be more accountable to investors under a new policy proposed by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) today. Under this policy fund managers would no longer be able to incur costs for services additional to dealing without the customer's express agreement. This means that managers would have to negotiate with their customers on how much to pay for such services. The Borsa Italiana Board Of Directors Votes To Change The Trading Hours

The Board of Directors have voted to change the trading hours of the markets organised and managed by Borsa Italiana. This will bring them into line with those of the principal European markets, as required by the European Market Model.
Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces March Volume - "Equity Trading Reaches Record Volume"

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that it set a new record in equity volume, with 289,987,527 shares traded in March. Volume nearly doubled when compared to the same year-ago period when 158,129,147 shares traded. This represents an 83.39% increase. Equity volume increased 18.52% compared to the previous month when 244,987,527 shares traded.
Pharmacia To Be Delisted From Stockholmsbörsen

Pharmacia requested today that its shares be delisted from Stockholmsbörsen due to the company's merger with Pfizer. The final date for trading in the shares will be Friday, April 11. Stockholmsbörsen will offer trading in Pfizer shares, which will commence as soon as the exchange of depositary receipts in Pharmacia for Pfizer shares has been completed.
