Iceland Stock Exchange - Closing dates Of Trading And News Systems

Iceland Stock Exchange (ICEX) reminds market participants that the trading system is closed for trading on Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and 2 January. Accordingly, the ICEX news system will be closed and no announcements from issuers will be published these particular days. The first announcements in 2003 will be published on 3 January, the first trading day of the year.

Helsinki Exchanges: Evening Trading Shortens By Half An Hour From 1 April, 2003

Evening trading at Helsinki Exchanges will be shortened by half an hour on 1 April, 2003, from which date evening trading will end at 7.30 pm. Otherwise trading hours will remain unchanged.

Euronext.Liffe To Launch EONIA Futures Contract On 4 February 2003

CBOT To Expand Exchange-for-Risk ( EFR) Pilot Program

In a move designed to strengthen the exchange's competitive position by making commodity futures as useful as possible to participants in the over-the-counter (OTC) markets, the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT ), the world's largest agricultural commodity exchange, announced today that it will expand its existing Exchange-for-Risk (EFR) pilot program, currently comprised of CBOT rice and oats contracts, to include CBOT wheat contracts, effective January 2, 2003.

3.5 Trillion Euros In Turnover On German Stock Exchanges In 2002

Based on preliminary figures for the year 2002, which include an estimate for the last five trading days, a total volume of some 3.5 trillion euros will be traded on the German stock exchanges (2001: 4.5 trillion euros). The total comprises about 2.6 trillion euros in equities, warrants and exchange-traded funds (2001: 3.3 trillion euros) and about 850 billion euros in fixed-income securities (2001: 1.2 trillion euros).
