The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced today that it has entered into a long-term agreement with Standard & Poor’s to launch options on Select Sector SPDRs [Standard & Poor's Depositary Receipts Trusts] and S&P iShares Exchange Traded Funds [ETF]. Select Sector SPDRs cover U.S. equities; S&P iShares cover global equities with stand-alone regional ETFs of Europe, Latin America and Japan.

SunTrust Capital Markets Fined $100,000 For Failing To Register Research Analysts Under New Rules - SunTrust's 48 Analysts Issued Over 600 Reports Without Taking Qualifying Exams

NASD announced today that it has censured and fined SunTrust Capital Markets, Inc. - the Atlanta, GA-based bank-affiliated broker-dealer and investment bank - $100,000 for failing to register its 48 research analysts under new NASD rules that took effect last year. This is the first NASD enforcement action involving the new registration requirements.

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes to the S&P SmallCap 600: Central Pacific Financial Corp. (NYSE:CPF) will replace Riggs National Corp.
