NYBOT's Coffee C Futures Set New Open Interest Record

The Coffee "C" futures contract market at the New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) set a new open interest record on January 20, 2004, of 93,318 contracts. The previous "C" record of 86,312 contracts was set on January 16, 2004.

New Member Firm For The Irish Stock Exchange

January 20th, 2004: The Irish Stock Exchange has admitted Pershing Securities International Ltd as a new member firm of the Irish Stock Exchange. Pershing Securities International Ltd is a newly set up Irish based company whose ultimate parent company is The Bank of New York.

Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange And London Stock Exchange Sign Memorandum Of Co-Operation

The Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) and the London Stock Exchange today signed a Memorandum of Co-operation that commits the two organisations to work together for their mutual benefit.

Ljubljana Stock Exchange Monthly Statistical Report December 2003

The total turnover on all market segments of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE) in December 2003 amounted to SIT 42.2 billion, which was at the same time the highest monthly turnover in 2003 in general. The December turnover exceeded the November one by 36.26%, and also the annual monthly average, by 48.96%. In comparison to December 2002, however, the turnover decreased by 31.93%, or by SIT 19.8 billion.

Improved Confidence In Stockholmsbörsen

At Stockholmsbörsen's Exchange Seminar 2004, which was held today, Kerstin Hessius presented the results of an external survey that showed that public confidence in Stockholmsbörsen had increased since 2002. Confidence in Stockholmsbörsen has increased among all of the categories covered by the survey, namely Exchange members, listed companies, institutional investors, private investors, the mass media, and various interest groups.

European Commission: Implementation Report On The Internal Market Strategy

CME Sets New GLOBEX® Foreign Exchange (FX) Volume Record - Electronically Traded EuroFX, Japanese Yen, Canadian Dollars Among New Records

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) announced that it set a new trading volume record for foreign exchange (FX) trading on its GLOBEX® electronic trading platform as combined GLOBEX FX futures volume hit 162,721 on Tuesday, Jan. 20. The notional - or face - value of the contracts was $20.6 billion.

CME Appoints Redding As Acting Head Of Products And Services

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) today announced that Satish Nandapurkar has resigned as Managing Director, Products and Services, effective immediately. CME announced the appointment of Rick Redding, Managing Director, Equities, as acting head of Products and Services. Redding has been with CME for 16 years, including serving for over the past 10 years as head of the exchange's equity product line.

CBOT® Approves Memorandum Of Understanding Expected To Lead To Settlement Of Lawsuit

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) today announced that its Board of Directors has approved a binding memorandum of understanding that is expected to lead to final settlement of a lawsuit brought by certain Associate Members and GIM, IDEM and COM membership interest holders. The final terms of the settlement are expected to be submitted for court approval.
