The 2026 Regulatory Agenda reflects the robust rulemaking we are pursuing under my chairmanship. Now that we are just over one year into my tenure, we have made significant progress in returning the agency to its core mission of protecting investors; facilitating capital formation; and maintaining fair, orderly, and efficient markets – a charge that will guide the Commission as we continue to enact this important agenda.

The EBA Publishes Final Guidelines On The Authorisation Of Third-Country Branches Under The Capital Requirements Directive

The European Banking Authority (EBA) today published its final Guidelines on authorisation of third-country credit institutions to set-up a third-country branch (TCB) in a Member State. These Guidelines were mandated by the Capital Requirements Directive (CRD6) which introduced a new regime for TCBs and contribute to the harmonised access to the EU market for banking services.

Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer: High Input-Cost Concerns Continue To Weigh On Farmer Sentiment

Producers continued to express concern about farm finances as the June Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer recorded a 6-point decline in farmer sentiment to 113. The Current Conditions Index fell to an 18-month low of 102, and the Future Expectations Index dropped 7 points. High input costs remained producers' top concern, with 47% identifying them as the biggest challenge facing their operation, followed by low crop and livestock prices at 23%. A related question revealed that 42% of respondents feel high input costs are limiting improvements in their financial position this year. The survey was conducted among 400 farmers across the nation from June 15-19.

Joint Announcement Of The Hong Kong FIC Trading Platform

The People’s Bank of China (PBOC), the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) jointly welcomed the collaboration between the China Foreign Exchange Trade System (CFETS) and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) to develop an electronic fixed income and currency trading platform (the FIC Trading Platform) in Hong Kong. This initiative will further strengthen the financial cooperation between Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland, and reinforce Hong Kong’s position as an international financial centre and an offshore RMB business hub.
