FTSEurofirst Index Series Selected By Barclays Global Investors

The FTSEurofirst Index Series has been selected by Barclays Global Investors (BGI) as the underlying benchmark for two European ETFs. Beginning in Autumn 2004, BGI will switch the underlying benchmark for the iShares FTSE Euro 100 and iShares FTSE Eurotop 100 to the FTSEurofirst Index Series.

Appointment Of SEHK And HKFE Chief Executives

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has received the confirmation that the Securities and Futures Commission has approved the appointment of Patrick Conroy, HKEx’s Chief Operating Officer, as the Chief Executive of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK) and Gerald Greiner, HKEx’s Deputy Chief Operating Officer, as the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE). Both appointments took effect on 21 June 2004.

SEC Settles Insider Trading Matter Against Former FleetBoston Employee - SEC Froze Trader's Assets Within Three Days Of Trade

The Commission announced that a Massachusetts federal court has entered a final judgment against Guillermo Garcia Simon, a former FleetBoston Financial Group employee residing in Buenes Aires, Argentina, in connection with his trading in the securities of FleetBoston in advance of the announcement of its acquisition by Bank of America Corporation. Under the terms of the final judgment, entered by consent, Simon was ordered to pay approximately $525,000 in disgorgement, interest, and a penalty. H
