Australian Stock Exchange Limited (ASX) today announced an unaudited operating profit after tax of $22.1 million for the three months to 30 September 2004, an increase of 13.9% when compared with the $19.4 million recorded for the corresponding three months to 30 September 2003.

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) announced today that it has begun publishing the Amex Gold Miners Index (Ticker Symbol: GDM); a new modified market capitalization weighted index comprised of publicly traded companies involved primarily in the mining for gold and silver.

Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. announced today that 500,000 shares of H.I.S.Co., Ltd.(9603) redeemed on September 6, 2004, will be excluded in the number of listed shares used to calculate TOPIX and its sub-indices, this will take effect after the close of trading on October 22, 2004.
