In January-September 2004, The Total Volume Of Trading On MICEX Reached About 350 Bln Dollars

The Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) has considered the results of its work in the first nine months of 2004. From 1 January till 30 September, 2004, the total volume of trading in all of the MICEX markets reached 349,9 bln US dollars. This exceeds 1,8 times the results of the same period of 2003.

CBOT Mini-Sized Dow Options Open Interest Sets New Record

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that open interest in CBOT mini-sized DowSM options surpassed 100,000 contracts for the first time ever. Open interest in the 100 percent electronic contract climbed to 101,133 contracts on October 8, compared with the prior record of 92,563 contracts reached on October 7.

The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) announced today that at the end of trading on Friday, October 8, open interest stood at 10,314 contracts; a new high and the first time that open interest has surpassed the 10,000-contract mark.CFE, which launched on March 26, 2004, is a new, all-electronic futures exchange offering futures on the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), CBOE S&P 500 Three-Month Variance (VT) and beginning Monday, October 18, futures on the newly created CBOE China Index (CX).
