June 2005 Biggest Volume Month In NYBOT’s 135-Year History

The month of June 2005 was the busiest month ever for the New York Board of Trade â (NYBOT â ), with combined monthly trading volume reaching an unprecedented 3,878,067 contract s, surpassing the previous volume record of 3,611,479 futures and options contracts set in June 2004. At the half-way mark in 2005, the Exchange is now running 13.2% ahead of the first half of the record year of 2004. A total of 19,124,761 futures and options have been traded year-to-date (YTD).

ISE Reports Monthly Volume For June 2005

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE: ISE) today reported equity options trading volume for June 2005. Average daily trading volume in equity options contracts increased 23.7% to 1.5 million contracts traded as compared to 1.2 million contracts traded in the same period in the prior year. Total equity options volume for the month increased 29.6% to 33.1 million contracts traded as compared to 25.5 million contracts traded in the same year-ago period.

Instinet Group Completes Sale Of Lynch, Jones & Ryan, Inc. To The Bank Of New York

Instinet Group Incorporated (Nasdaq:INGP) ("Instinet Group"), the largest global electronic agency securities broker, announced today that it has completed the previously agreed sale of Lynch, Jones & Ryan, Inc. ("LJR"), an Instinet subsidiary, to The Bank of New York for $174 million in cash. The Bank of New York will operate LJR as a subsidiary of BNY Brokerage, Inc., its agency brokerage and a member of BNY Securities Group.

Deutsche Börse: Turnover On German Stock Exchanges 33 Percent Up Year-On Year - €335 Billion In Turnover On German Stock Exchanges In June - More Transactions On Xetra In H1 2005 - Exchange Traded Funds Turnover Increased 75 Percent Year-On Year

In June, turnover in equities, bonds, warrants and exchange traded funds increased 33 percent year-on year, based on the aggregate statistics. Turnover accounted for €335 billion (June 2004: €252 billion). June total turnover included €267 billion in equities, warrants and exchange traded funds, as was well as €67 billion in fixed-income securities trading. In the first six months, exchange turnover accounted for €1.78 trillion, compared to €1.77 trillion in the first six months 2004.

CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, today reported that total volume for the second quarter averaged a record 4.4 million contracts per day, up 33 percent from the same period a year ago. Total CME volume was above 280 million contracts for the quarter. Average daily volume on the CME Globex electronic trading platform was 3.1 million contracts, an 82 percent increase from second-quarter 2004 and a 19 percent increase from first-quarter 2005.
