On Monday the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse nominated Reto Francioni (50) member of the Executive Board and appointed him Chief Executive Officer. Francioni will assume his new responsibility at the earliest possible date. The members of the Supervisory Board elected Kurt F. Viermetz new Chairman taking over the position from Rolf-E. Breuer, who resigned from the Supervisory Board as of the end of the meeting.

EUROGROUP Eurogroup ministers will meet at 19:00 hrs on Monday 10 October. Joaquín Almunia, Commissioner responsible for Economic and Monetary Affairs, and European Central Bank Governor Jean-Claude Trichet will attend. NASD Charges Eight Firms With Directed Brokerage Violations, Imposes Fines Totaling More Than $7.75 Million

NASD announced today that it has fined eight broker-dealers - including seven retail firms and one mutual fund distributor - more than $7.75 million for directed brokerage violations. The sanctions announced today are the latest actions resulting from an NASD enforcement sweep focusing on the receipt or payment of directed brokerage in exchange for preferential treatment for certain mutual fund companies.
