Cairn Energy Rejoins FTSE 100

FTSE Group, the global index provider, has confirmed today that Cairn Energy will re-enter the FTSE 100 after a six month absence, at close of business on Friday 16th September. The oil & gas exploration and production company first entered the index a year ago. Joining Cairn in the UK blue chip index is the online gaming giant Partygaming, which listed on the London Stock Exchange in June.

Viermetz will assume the chair of the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Börse taking effect as of the end of the Board meeting on October 10 when the current Chairman Dr. Rolf-E Breuer will resign. Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Tuesday, September 6, 2005: Jilbey Gold Exploration Ltd. (TSXVN:JLB) will be removed from the index. The company will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange as a result of a plan of arrangement whereby the company will be acquired by High River Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX:HRG). North American Gold Inc.
