AIG To Pay $800 Million To Settle Securities Fraud Charges By SEC - Over $1.6 Billion To Be Paid To Resolve Federal And New York State Actions

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced today the filing and settlement of charges that American International Group, Inc. (AIG) committed securities fraud. The settlement is part of a global resolution of federal and state actions under which AIG will pay in excess of $1.6 billion to resolve claims related to improper accounting, bid rigging and practices involving workers’ compensation funds.

Second CBOE Seat Sells For One Million Dollars - Sale Matches Previous Record Set On Tuesday, February 7th

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that a seat, or membership, was bought late yesterday afternoon at a price of $1,000,000. This ties the new record seat price of $1,000,000 set earlier in the day on Tuesday, February 7th and surpasses the previous high of $925,000, set just last week on Friday, February 3, 2006. Yesterday's two seat sales for $1,000,000 are the first time in CBOE history that a seat at the Exchange has reached this milestone.

OMX has sold all its shares in Norsk Oppgørssentral ASA (NOS), totalling 1,749,700 shares. OMX' result from this divestment is estimated to slightly more than SEK 20 million, to be recognized as other income during the first quarter of 2006.
