The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that its $5 mini-sized Dow Jonessm futures contract set a record on Thursday, as volume climbed to 263,844 contracts at the close of trading. The new record topped the previous record of 218,495, set on May 24, 2006, by 21 percent.
