CBOT August Volume Reaches Second Highest Monthly Total In Exchange History - Average Daily Volume Up 23 Percent Over August 2005 - Exchange’s Gold Complex Achieved 53 Percent Market Share Of Listed North American Gold Futures Traded In August

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®), one of the world’s leading derivatives exchanges, today announced that average daily volume (ADV) reached 3,341,170 contracts in August, an increase of 23 percent compared with August 2005. Total volume for the month was 76,846,908 contracts – the second highest monthly volume total in CBOT history. The monthly record, 79,828,143 contracts, was set in May 2006.

CBOE Volume Rises 32% In August - Average Daily Volume For The Month Was 2.4 Million Contracts, Year-To-Date Volume Of 446.2 Million Is 52% Ahead Of 2005

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that average daily volume for the month of August was 2,369,845 contracts, an increase of 32% over August 2005's average daily volume of 1,793,265 contracts. With August's trading volume of 54,506,439 contracts, CBOE's year-to-date total volume now stands at 446.2 million contracts, 52% ahead of 2005.

UK's Financial Services Authority To Simplify Approved Persons Regime

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has today issued a consultation paper outlining a new proposal to merge the customer functions in the approved persons regime in response to feedback from the industry. This feedback from retail and wholesale firms follows the publication of a consultation paper in July 2005 detailing a series of proposals to streamline and simplify the Handbook.
