The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) has submitted its response to the European Commission's Call for Evidence on Pre- and post-trade transparency provisions of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) in relation to transactions in classes of financial instruments other than shares.

As of 18 September 2006, the MICEX Stock Exchange lowers the aggregate rate for trades in non-government bonds made in the main (anonymous) trading mode from 0.019% to 0.01% of the trade value.

(NYSE:GGC) Royal Group Technologies Limited will be removed from the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX Equity, Capped Equity and Equity SmallCap, the S&P/TSX SmallCap, and the S&P/TSX Capped Industrials Indices after the close of Tuesday, September 26, 2006.

Office Of The Chief Accountant Of The Securities And Exchange Commission Issues Letter Expressing Its Views On The Appropriate Application Of The Stock Option Accounting Literature

The Office of the Chief Accountant of the Securities and Exchange Commission today issued a letter summarizing the staff’s views regarding the accounting for stock options in the historical financial statements of public companies. “The views expressed in this letter will assist in the resolution of accounting issues that have been raised during reviews of past stock option grants in a way that benefits investors and the capital markets,” said SEC Chief Accountant Conrad Hewitt.
