Dubai Financial Market today announced that it has commenced the process of converting itself to be the first international ‘Islamic’ stock market. A Shari’a committee recently issued a Fatwa approving this step and stating that DFM is Shari’a compliant.

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes: The shareholders of Cambior Inc (TSX:CBJ) have accepted the plan of arrangement with IAMGOLD Corporation (TSX:IMG). Cambior Inc. will be removed from the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX SmallCap, the S&P/TSX Equity, Equity SmallCap and Capped Equity, the S&P/TSX Capped Materials and the S&P/TSX Capped Gold Indices. The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that it successfully launched open auction trading of its options on Full-sized Gold (100 oz.) and Silver (5,000 oz.) futures contracts. The contracts now trade side-by-side on the Exchange’s electronic trading platform and open auction arena. On the first day of trading, Gold and Silver options open auction volume totaled 381 contracts.

CBOE And CFE Trading Schedule For Veterans Day

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and the CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) today announced that on Friday, November 10th CBOE and CFE will observe two minutes of silence, from 10:00 to 10:02 a.m. CST, and CBOE's interest rate products will be closed for the day in recognition of Veteran's Day. Trading will not be halted during the two minutes of silence. Regular trading hours will otherwise be in effect.
