Full Seat At NYBOT Sells For $1.1 Million

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®), the world’s leading “soft” commodity exchange, today announced that a full seat on its exchange has sold for a record $1.1 million. Today’s sale surpasses the previous high of $1,030,000 traded on October 16, 2006.

The 46th General Assembly of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) has elected Massimo Capuano, President and CEO, Borsa Italiana, as incoming WFE Chairman for 2007- 2008, during its meeting in Sao Paulo. Mr. Capuano will assume his new position beginning in January 2007, taking over from Mr Taizo Nishimuro, President and CEO of Tokyo Stock Exchange, now completing his two-year term.

Euronext And Taiwan Stock Exchange Signed MOU Aimed At Strengthening Cooperation

On 15 October 2006, Mr Jean-François Théodore, Chairman of the Managing Board and CEO of Euronext NV, and Dr Gordon S. Chen, Chairman of the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corp. (TSEC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during the Annual Meeting of the World Federation of Exchanges in Sao Paulo (Brazil).

Attorney General Eliot Spitzer today announced a settlement with Morgan Stanley DW Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Morgan Stanley, for failing to supervise one of its brokers who defrauded 15 customers of more than $740,000.

CBOE Seat Sells For New Record Of $1,425,000

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that a seat, or membership, on the Exchange, was bought this morning for a price of $1,425,000, setting a new record for seat prices at CBOE. The previous record seat price was set on August 15th this year with a trade of $1,400,000. The sale this morning was the fifty-first of the year and the thirty-eighth seat that was sold for at least one million dollars during 2006. The high seat sale for 2005 was $875,000.

CBOT Holdings, Inc., holding company for the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®), announced today that revenue for the third quarter 2006 increased 45 percent to $163.0 million compared with $112.2 million in the third quarter of 2005. Net income for the quarter more than doubled, hitting a new high of $48.8 million versus $19.8 million for the comparable period last year.
