MCX Weekly Turnover Up 27 Per Cent, Energy Index Down 17.98 Per Cent

The total weekly turnover of all futures contracts of major commodities was Rs 49,750.25 crores during the week ended on Thursday (February 2-8) from previous week’s turnover of Rs 39,084.03 crores.

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 10,067 points at the end of the year, an increase of 65.1 points from the closing value at the end of June. The weighted index reached 531.71 points at the end of the year, an increase of 24.52 points from the closing value at the end of June.

The Photographers’ Gallery in London has been exhibiting works by the four finalists of the “Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2007” since Thursday. The four artists are Philippe Chancel, Anders Petersen, Fiona Tan and Walid Raad / The Atlas Group. The candidates were nominated by an international academy, a group of 75 European photography experts that were invited by the Photographers’ Gallery to propose artists for the award. HKEx: Senior Executive Changes

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced on 12 September 2006 that Patrick Conroy, its Chief Operating Officer, had informed the board of directors of HKEx (Board) of his intention to return to the United States for career development purposes. Subsequently, Mr Conroy, under a mutual agreement with HKEx, decided to resign from his positions as Chief Operating Officer of HKEx and Chief Executive of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (SEHK) effective 9 February 2007.

Hansabank Became Warsaw Stock Exchange IPO Partner

Hansabank from Estonia has signed the agreement with the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) on joining the WSE IPO Partner programme. The agreement, among other benefits, enables Hansabank to better arrange listing of Baltic companies on the WSE.
