CBOE Files S-4 Registration Statement With SEC

The Chicago Board Options Exchange announced that its subsidiary, CBOE Holdings, Inc., has filed an S-4 Registration Statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that sets forth the terms of its proposed demutualization transaction. CBOE's proposed demutualization is subject to regulatory approval by the SEC and a vote of the CBOE membership.

SEC: Joseph Ucuzoglu Named As Senior Advisor To The Commission's Chief Accountant

Conrad W. Hewitt, the Commission's Chief Accountant, announced today that Joseph B. Ucuzoglu has been named to serve in the SEC Office of the Chief Accountant as a senior advisor. In this capacity, Mr. Ucuzoglu will advise the chief accountant on complex accounting and auditing matters, and will assist in the development of strategic objectives that need to be pursued as part of the Office's agenda.

International Securities Exchange Completes Rollout Of Second Market For Options - New Competitive Market Makers Add Liquidity, Support Volume Growth

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE: ISE) today announced that it has completed the initial rollout of its Second Market for options. Approximately 700 options classes now trade in the Second Market with an aggregate average daily volume for the month of January of over 79,000 contracts.

Deutsche Börse added a new member to the DAXglobal® index family on Monday: DAXglobal Asia. It bundles the 40 largest and most liquid stocks from the Asian region (excluding Japan). NYBOT Softs Exceed 75,000 Contracts In Electronic Trading On February 9 - New Daily Exchange-Wide Volume And Sugar Futures Records Also Set

Electronic soft commodity futures trading at the New York Board of Trade (NYBOT), a wholly-owned subsidiary of IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), reached a new high of 75,317 contracts on Friday, February 9, or more than 24% of overall daily soft commodity futures volume. Total exchange-wide volume on February 9 of 372,603 contracts surpassed the previous record of 340,190 contracts established on February 7.

Thai Bourse To Increase Institutional Investors And Market Stability

To bolster stability, The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will increase the proportion of local and foreign institutional investors in the market to 40% in 2007, and 50% in 2009. In separate developments, SET, in conjunction with commercial banks and securities’ firms, will establish 30 ‘cyber (securities) branches’ by end-2007, and will amend certain regulations to facilitate new and existing listings.
