In advance of this week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on January 31, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.

Mini-SPX Index Options (XSP) Traded At CBOE Set New Volume Record - 118,862 Contracts Change Hands On Friday, January 26, 2007

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that volume in Mini-SPX Index (XSP) options set a new single-day record when 118,862 contracts traded at CBOE on Friday, January 26th. Min-SPX options are based on 1/10th the value of the Standard & Poor's 500 Index. Friday's volume beats the previous record for XSP options of 54,115 contracts, set over a year ago, on January 18, 2006. Open interest in XSP options stood at 923,280 contracts at the start of trading today.
