List Rearrangement Planned On OMX Baltic Market

OMX stock exchanges in Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius are planning to introduce list rearrangement as the next step towards creation of fully integrated Baltic securities market. The list rearrangement will introduce several notable changes in existing list structure. The aim of the project is to harmonize the market structure and market practices across Baltic exchanges thus increasing its appeal to investors.

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 10,221 points at the end of March, an increase of 469.1 points from the closing value at the end of February. The weighted index reached 591.6 points at the end of March, an increase of 42.65 points from the closing value at the end of February.

CBOE Volume Increases 35% Over Year Ago - Average Daily Volume 3.4 Million Contracts

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that trading volume for the month of April totaled 68,433,884 contracts, an increase of 35% over April 2006's volume of 50.6 million contracts, led by strong gains in Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and index options trading. Average daily volume for the month at CBOE was 3.4 million contracts. Volume for the options industry overall was up 30% compared to April 2006.

Minneapolis Grain Exchange Posts Record April, Sees Upswing In Membership Interest

Double-digit increases rule the day as the Minneapolis Grain Exchange posts its final numbers for April. Spring Wheat futures volume set an all-time high for April with 178,019 contracts – an increase of 14 percent over the previous April record set in 2005 and 20-percent higher than 2006. It is also the 2nd highest spring wheat volume in Exchange history. It was also the highest month on record for electronic volume with 42,332 spring wheat futures contracts traded in the electronic market.

The Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME), a joint venture between Tatweer, a member of Dubai Holding, and the New York Mercantile Exchange Inc. (NYMEX), announced yesterday that further to earlier approvals and no objection letters from overseas jurisdictions, the Financial Supervisory Service of the Republic of Korea will grant the DME recognition as a foreign futures market Likewise, the Central Bank of Bahrain has notified the DME that they have no objection to the DME providing Bahrain
