CBOT Futures Daily Open Interest Surpassses 10 Million Contracts For The First Time

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced that futures open interest reached a new daily record yesterday, as futures open interest surpassed 10 million contracts for the first time. The new record, 10,031,752 contracts, surpasses the previous high of 9,976,613 contracts.

The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) today released figures on new international bond market issues for the first quarter of 2007, showing that the total value of new issuance in this period was over US$ 937 billion. IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading electronic energy marketplace and soft commodity exchange, today reported strong growth in volume and commissions during the month of April 2007 compared to April 2006. Average daily volume (ADV) for ICE Futures, ICE’s U.K. futures subsidiary, was 496,904 contracts, an increase of 62.8% over ADV in April 2006.
